Has It Been That Long????

Omg, it really has been a long time since I blogged.  I'm so terrible at blogging.  It's always something keeping me from sitting down at this computer. LOL  Well ladies, as you know it's getting that time. The holidays have rolled around and the parties are jumping.  I'm sure you guys have so many questions on what to wear, and what kind of make-up look you should go for....so I'm hear to guide you guys and give you as much advice as you need.  For any christmas party, since most of you ladies will probably have on some shade of red, green, gold, or purple. I suggest that you keep your make-up soft and easy.  Play down your eyes and spice up your lips.  Now with New Years I say play down your lips and spice up your eyes.  A smoky eye has become a natural born make-up classic look and perfect for just about any occasion.  Do a super sexy smoky eye with sultry shades of blue, deep purples, charcoals, and grey's/sliver.  Add some dark liner and lashes and go PARTY PARTY PARTY!!!!

Beauty Trick

When putting on lip color a lot of us only think that lip liners are used to line the lips and define the color of the lipstick or lip gloss, but what you don't know is that....you can also apply lip liner over your entire lip.  I normally like to where mac lip color, but since they have recently discontinued the pink color that I was using I have created my own pink (that I love) by using a mac lip liner and lip gloss.  Go ahead...Try it out. I'm sure you'll like the results just the same.

Cosmo Beauty Tricks...

So I'm sitting in my bedroom reading my cosmo magazine and of course I'm checking out the latest makeup tips and beauty secrets... and I ran across a "SHAMELESS" beauty trick that I had never heard of before.  It was stated by makeup artist, Napoleon Perdis, that if you take Clear Mascara + Loose Shadow = Colored Mascara.

Here's what to do:
Get a tube of clear mascara, if you don't already own one, and take the wand and dip it into any shade of loose eye shadow you want, then swipe your lashes to tint them and you instantly have colored mascara!  Rinse the brush and use it to make a new mascara hue anytime you want.

Flirt with your Eyes....

Boost up your eyes with flirty, feathered lashes and tell the boys to come here with your eyes and not your lips. Lol  To achieve this look you can go 1 of 2 ways...

Natural Lash
1. If you already have a nice set of long lashes then all you need to do is curl the outer half of your lashes with a plastic lash curler.
2. Coat the lid of your eyes with a base or primer to get that extra dramatic look
3. Apply Mascara....(go heavy on the outer half) for best results use Maybelline New York Falsies Flared and Neutrogena Healthy Lengths pulling outward on the lash and not upward.
False Lash
1. If you lack naturally long lashes, then no worries, all you have to do is grab a pack of false lashes (Ardell #99 or  #117) take the lashes and measure them on your eyes before you apply glue.  Then using a pair of cuticle scissors cut outer half of the lashes and use that part on your own outer lashes, applying with glue.
2. Coat the lid of your eyes with a base or primer to get that extra dramatic look
3. Apply Mascara...Don't forget to blend your lashes with the false lashes

And if you want to take this look a step further....add liner to the top, bottom, or both rims of the eye!

Hello Lovelies,

It's the first of the month.  Happy July 1st to you all.  On another note, I woke up this morning and for some reason the first thing on my mind was blush...lol so I just wanted to share a quick thought about blush.  I know a lot of women don't like to wear blush because when you think of blush you think of big red rosey cheeks, but blush is actually a wonderful accessory to your face.  It adds warmth and brings life to matted out faces.

Blush also comes in many shades of pinks, reds, plums, browns, and coppers.

THE 5MIN FACE, GREAT FOR ANY OCCASION

I know a lot of women out there who work five days a week, if not more, and never wear make-up to work for these reasons: you don't have time to put any on, you don't want to over due it, or just don't know how. Well if any of those are your problem then, I have a simple solution for you.  It's called the 5MIN FACE.  Now let's get down to the basics.

What you will need:

  • foundation
  • concealer (optional, but highly recommended)
  • face powder
  • blush
  • mascara
  • eyeliner
  • lip gloss or lipstick
  • makeup brushes
  • brow pencil or brow powder
Step 1
- Fill in your eyebrows, you always want to have nice tamed eyebrows even if your just going to the grocery, work, or wherever.
Step 2
 - After filling in your brows you want to take your foundation and apply it all over your top eye lids and under the eye. (for those of you who want just an extra added touch take your concealer, which should be one to two shades lighter than your foundation and apply under the eyelids and on top of the cheeks)
Step 3
- Next take your powder and apply it all over your face, this will set the foundation and concealer to give you a matte finish look.
Step 4
- Then take your blush and apply in a circular swift motions over the apples of the cheeks (smiling slightly helps to apply blush correctly)
YOUR ALMOST DONE.....
Step 5
- Lastly in the final stages apply a little eyeliner, mascara, and lipgloss/lipstick and your done. You've just created a work friendly 5 min face.

This world is filled with beauty. Allow yourself time to be nourished with the beauty of this world. Watch the sun rise, gaze at the ripples of water on the lake, listen to the songbirds, feel the breath of the breeze, glory in the colors of the sunset, feel the magic of the moon. This beauty is the air for your soul.

Beauty Tip:
Ladies be careful when applying or having individual lashes applied. Stay away from that individual lash glue that may or may not come with them. That glue is very harsh to the eyes and almost like "cement" in my opinion. I've seen on more than one occasion the damage it can do. Just last week I had a client come to me. She had told me she went to this nail shop and let the lady there do her lashes, she told me, " Tiffany, it burned when she put them on and afterwards she told me to keep my eyes open for a while so they don't close shut!" we tried everything. Soaking her lashes in baby oil, water, trying to rub them in a circular motion and nothing worked at the time. Finally after a few days of soaking them and soaking them in lash glue remover they came off, but she lost a lot of her real lashes as well. So ladies be careful! Muah

Makeup by: Jon Coe

Put on your face and follow me to town
mascara, rouge, let's cover up that frown
Lipstick of red, violets of blue
bring a mirror, so you don't foget you
Paint me a color, sing me song
knock back that whiskey and don't be long
Look, see, they're looking at you now
this makeup is working, you're learning to wow
Bright lights, smudges and smears
watching the guys, downing their beers
Before too long, the girl that you are
will be ready and waiting, under the bar
Passing the window, turning your head
adjusting that look, pulling that thread
Makeup and vanity, walking the line
under the skin, makeup under-mine

Tips for Applying Shadow

The key to great make-up is all in the application and the type of brushes you use.  A lot of women don't understand the basic key concepts of make-up.  I bet the first thing most of you do when you apply your eyeshadow is 1. Use one of those sponge applicators and 2. apply your shadow in a swiping motion (moving back and forth from crease to crease.) First off, you don't want to use those sponge applicators because they pick up "waaaaayyyy" too much product, and second when you apply your makeup you don't want to swipe it because, instead of putting product on...what you're actually doing is applying the shadow and taking it right back off.  What you want to do is pat the product on and then blend.
